Neurologist appt.

Update on Emmalee. We saw the neurologist today. She ordered an MRI for Emmalee. She wants to make sure there are no underdeveloped parts of her brain, no abnormalities or brain atrophy. She also agrees that seeing the nutritionist is a great idea (we have an appt Monday) Emmalee has not gained an ounce in months despite our efforts to focus on her caloric and protein intake. The neurologist also agrees that a work up of her genes would be great. (We are waiting for those appointments to be scheduled.) She feels like finding out if she has any genetic disorders or syndromes will really help to get a better idea of what Emmalee needs and who she is. She mentioned that Emmalee is most likely autistic but what that looks like is different in all kiddos. On the spectrum is the most accurate way to describe her. Giving her that diagnosis is a great way to be approved for services and support. We still have a ways to go on this path to finding out about our sweet Em. Thanks for loving us and we appreciate the support!

Geocaching

Soaked to the bone!!!! Geocaching in the rain! We found 2 and collected our prizes. The third one was impossible to find. We searched and were unsuccessful. We gave up and decided to call it a day and get Dairy Queen to reward ourselves for our hard work. We are dedicated to the game and are excited for more fun adventures!

Mt. Hood Cabin

Last full day w/our friends at their cabin as we prepare to close our spring break week tomorrow. Paige & Patrick took us to the snow-park just up the road at White River West Snow Park. It was a beautiful sunny (VERY bright) day to play in some snow. In hind-sight, we'd have brought sun-screen & sunglasses, but we still had a great time! We were all so hungry when we got back to the cabin for lunch but by the time dinner rolled around we decided to just turn our dessert plans into dinner... cake-waffles for all!!

I was too busy turning out the waffles to take pictures,... so just picture cake-waffles with lemon curb, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, whip cream (& I complete forgot we had also brought caramel & chocolate syrups!)

Mt. Hood Cabin

Another fun day that started with German Pancakes! My parents came up to visit for the afternoon and we treated them to a hike at the Wildwood Recreational Site. We hiked to the Wildlife and fish viewing center where we saw baby rainbow trout and coho salmon. The kiddos had fun stomping in puddles, skipping rocks down by the river’s edge and running ahead on the moss lined pavement. The scenery here is spectacular! Spring in Oregon is Gorgeous. Tacos and burritos for dinner were delicious and hit the spot! Thanks Dave and Karisa! After dinner, Karisa and I decided to take the girls on a little “geocache adventure” nearby. We found some adorable treasures and the girls loved it!

Mt Hood Cabin

We were blessed with a safe, albeit rainy, drive over last night. Today we're excited to be spending our spring break weekend staying with our friend's at their family's cabin near Mt Hood. We enjoyed a big yummy breakfast this morning (Thanks for the egg, bacon & cheese biscuits David; they went great w/the yogurt, granola & apple slices). We had a bit of a lazy morning (the after-effects of kids waking up at 4am!!

We ventured out for a quick geocaching before a muddy little 'hike' through a very mossy forest (old Salmon River Trail in Mt Hood National Forrest. Back home to close out our day w/chicken salad sandwiches & chips for dinner and drumstick ice cream cones!
