Loch Lolly Land

We don’t encourage our children to believe in Santa. We tell them stories about St. Nicholas and teach them about giving to others. That being said, we have always visited Santa at Loch Lolly Land. We teach them that he brings smiles to many faces and listens and has a kind heart. He is such an amazing Santa! We visit him every year! It doesn’t matter that our kids don’t believe in Santa. They don’t have to believe to enjoy the company of a jolly and kind man with a beard. We love this tradition and as long as he is at Loch Lolly Land, we will visit him.

Thanksgiving

Another Round of Tubes

She’s out of surgery. It went well. The doctor said that there was some gelatinous goo around her eardrum which kept the infection in and didn’t allow for drainage. 🤷🏻‍♀️. He got it cleared out and cleaned. Placed tubes in both ears and we will be back for post op to see how things are going. Please pray that her ear will properly drain this time with the tubes and that the gunk will not build up or return.
 We are home eating jell-o and watching our favorite movies. Resting up and getting prepared for family time this weekend. She is doing awesome!

Caralynn bounced back beautifully this afternoon following her surgery. Her left ear is still really bothering her and itchy. We put the drops in and cleaned the outer ear. There is quite a bit of discharge which is a good sign. She spent the evening happily playing with her cousins:) She is our little warrior princess.

Wrapped in Love

💕Wrapped in “love.” 💕Caralynn’s Sunday school teacher Bethany Sebra arranged for the junior primary children to each tie a knot for this quilt. They presented it to Caralynn for her to take with her to the hospital tomorrow. She LOOOOVES it and drags it around, snuggles on the couch and sleeps with it. We have had a few restless nights and this blanket has been cozy enough for us both to cuddle under. We are so nervous going into this surgery as now she has been diagnosed with Cholesteatoma (which is basically glaucoma but it is obviously in her ear, not her eye) We are anxious to learn more about this disease and how it will affect her going forward. We pray for more answers. Thank you for all the prayers, well wishes and love. We feel it! We check into the hospital tomorrow morning at 9:30. 

Read In

Anderson’s class had a “Read in.” The teacher brought hot chocolate, marshmallows, whip cream and sprinkles. The kids were each able to bring in a blanket, pillow and stuffed animal and find a cozy spot to read and sip their hot chocolate. Anderson and I snuggled and took turns reading. The hot chocolate was sooooo yummy!

Another Surgery

Caralynn had ANOTHER appointment today. She is going in for surgery next week. She has Cholesteatoma. This has been a nightmare. We are hoping for more answers.

Pumpkin Bread

Anderson's 3rd Grade class made Pumpkin Bread that will be delivered to the Portland Rescue Mission. I love that Anderson was able to be involved in this service project! It was so fun!
