Baby Grace

 I am 1 in 4. 3 years ago we experienced a devastating miscarriage. We named the baby Grace. October is pregnancy Loss, stillbirth, miscarriage and infancy Loss Awareness Month.

ENT Appointment

 Hi!!!! It’s me again!! Are you getting sick of these updates, cause I sure am! Don’t ya think Thanksgiving week would be the perfect week for surgery?!? Well, Emmalee’s ENT thinks so. He also says her Adenoids have grown back in less than a year! Her tubes are just laying in her ear canal and not actually providing any purpose. Her tonsils are BIG and need to come out as well. We will be in the hospital for 2-3 days. Hoping this surgery is the answer to better health and healing.

Speech Feeding

Emmalee had an appt today with the Feeding Team at Randall Children’s hospital. We met with a nutritionist, speech and language pathologist and an occupational therapist. Emmalee ate and drank a number of things during the assessment. She was given a straw, fork, bowls, etc. the appt took about an hour and the team feels that Emmalee will definitely benefit from being enrolled in the feeding therapy. She has Oral Motor Dysfunction/Dysphasia and will be seen every other week from now until March. She has an assessment with the occupational therapist coming up and will see the ENT tomorrow to discuss the possible need for a tonsillectomy. Her nutritionist also wants a vitamin A blood panel done so we will have that done on Thursday. Emmalee is a trooper and we are so grateful she is getting the help and support she needs.
