Permed Mullet

Breaking News! Anderson is currently getting a new hairstyle!!!! Original intention was a mullet. Then changed to a perm! Then an idea to have a Permed Mullet. Here’s the Before!!!! Stay Tuned!!!

Drum roll please.....the big reveal! I’m really sad he didn’t opt for a curly mullet! Would have been so epic! But he loves it and that’s all that matters!

Sauvie's Island

We ventured out to Douglas Farm to pick peaches. The kids had a great time. We picked some blackberries and then headed into the orchard where the kids were able to reach and pick them on their own. We decided to check out Topaz farm afterward and what a fun time petting all the animals and playing on the playground. I even caught a stray chicken and all the kids took turns petting him. My niece, Brooke, took one look at him and says “he looks like a black sharpie.” I was laughing so hard. He earned the nickname “sharpie.”

Puzzle Emmalee

We have another puzzle piece in Emmalee's story. I received a call from her geneticist this morning and in addition to Emmalee being a carrier of Myotonic Dystrophy, she also has a defect on her DPF2 Gene. The condition associated with this gene is called Coffin-Siris Syndrome. Or (CSS) for short. Patrick and I will be sent a DNA kit to test our genes to see if this is congenital or if Emmalee is an anomaly. This is a very rare Hypotonic Disorder. It can cause an array of disabilities and symptoms. Not much is known because every case is different. As always, we will let Emmalee dictate to us her needs and we will support her any way we can.

Our Oasis

Our backyard and green space has been a work in progress and labor of love. So much hard work has gone into making it an absolute oasis for our family. Our time spent together has been special and we love the opportunity to continue making memories. It’s especially fun having a place for the neighborhood kids to gather and play together:)
