Preston is 5

We celebrated our nephew, Preston’s 5th birthday with a movie in the Theater. We saw Boss Baby 2. It was Emmalee’s first time and she did pretty well. She loved the popcorn and soda. I brought her a stuffy and her blanket to help her be more comfy. It was also my first time taking Catherine to see a movie. There were a few mishaps but all in all, it was a fun night spent with the ones I love.

A Wheelchair for Em

 Emmalee had her appointment with the physiatrist up at the children’s hospital. He put in the orders for AFO’s (longer leg braces for support) and a wheelchair. It was a hard pill to swallow but we know this will open more doors for her and make life a bit more enjoyable and provide her more support than a stroller can. Her muscle weakness due to her Hypotonia and Myotonic Dystrophy is something that will be a challenge for her and unfortunately may or may not improve with time or therapy. We hope that these devices will allow our family to enjoy physical activities more easily and the ability to bring Emmalee along for the fun without exhausting her. Again, thanks for the love, kindness and support. Navigating this road has not been easy.

Caralynn is 6

Caralynn requested a picnic dinner, crafts, a scavenger hunt and “fun friends to play with.” She got what she wished for and more! Our good friend, Kathryn has been allowing Anderson to learn how to handle her llamas. He helped her get them ready for the party and walked them down to the park to show the kids. It was such a fun and memorable evening.

Happy Birthday to our Amazing and wonderful 6 year old! Caralynn, you are such a joy and add so much happiness to our life. You love life and everyone in it! We are so blessed to be the ones chosen to love you the most!!!

We had so much fun celebrating Caralynn today! Pet store, target to use her birthday money to get herself a new Barbie, ice cream cone, sharing cupcakes with her neighborhood friends, bike riding and playing in the green space with friends, spaghetti factory for dinner and ending the night with presents, hot tub and FaceTiming cousin Halle and laughing so hard she was crying. Thanks for all the messages, gifts, phone calls, texts and love for our crazy girl.

 

Girl Time

Addison, allowed me to drag her to all my favorite restaurants and hot spots in Portland. She was such a good sport and I loved every second I was able to spend with her. I was only able to squeeze in a few days with Kate but the time we all spent together was incredibly memorable and fun. I love being able to spend time with my nieces! I love that they get along and have fun with the nieces on my side of the family. We had a blast on our girls night out:) Karisa Voigtlaender and I took them out to Little big burger, then to Rocket fizz and to the Mall to try on Prom Dresses (they asked me not to share pictures.) We ended the night with board games. Love these girls to the moon and back!
